Alex grew up in Laredo, Texas, and was occasionally involved in Jose Silva's pioneering research into the mind and human potential.

After a 22 year career in the U.S. Air Force, Alex retied in 1976 so that he could return to Laredo as Administrator and General Manager of his Uncle Joe's company.

In addition to managing the company, he traveled extensively with Jose Silva, learning how to train people to use their ESP. He also taught both basic and advanced Silva courses, as well as Holistic Faith Healing. In addition, he co-taught the Silva Ultimate Seminar with Jose Silva.

Alex and his brother Sam, who lives in Las Vegas, are the only members of the Silva family who are still teaching courses developed by Jose Silva.

Even though Alex travels the world promoting and teaching the Silva systems, Laredo is still his home. Alex and his wife Ana grew up here, went to school, were married more than 40 years ago, and started their family.
